About The Position
Temp To Full-Time Gas and diesel mechanic, diagnose, repair, and maintain gasoline and diesel engines for vehicles and heavy equipment, including trucks, buses, and industrial machinery . Perform routine maintenance (oil changes, fluid checks), troubleshoot electrical and mechanical failures using diagnostic tools, and overhaul engines, transmissions, and braking systems. Job duties include but not limited to: Diagnostics: Utilizing specialized software and tools to identify mechanical and electrical issues. Repairs: Replacing or rebuilding parts such as pistons, bearings, gears, valves, and fuel system components. Maintenance: Performing oil changes, fluid level checks, lubrication, and tune-ups. System Overhaul: Repairing braking systems, transmissions, steering, and electrical components. Safety & Compliance: Ensuring vehicles meet safety standards and regulations. Documentation: Maintaining accurate records of services, repairs, and parts used.
Requirements
- High school diploma
- Ability to lift heavy parts
- Ability to work in confined spaces
- Ability to stand for long periods
- Proficiency with hand tools
- Proficiency with power tools
- Proficiency with diagnostic computers
- Proficiency with hydraulic hoists
Nice To Haves
- Postsecondary training in diesel or automotive repair
- ASE (Automotive Service Excellence) certifications
