About The Position
To assist mechanics in their performance of direct maintenance and repair support to the bus fleet and other designated vehicles owned by the Rapides Parish School Board
Requirements
- Must be mechanically inclined in the areas of vehicle repair
- Must be physically capable of performing strenuous work
- Must have a current chauffeur class license and obtain a type A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) within six (6) months
Responsibilities
- Perform designated minor maintenance as directed by supervisor.
- Assist Manager/Mechanic with repairs on all board-owned buses
- Assist Manager/Mechanic with repairs on all board-owned vehicles
- Make necessary adjustments as designated by supervisor
- Assist in removing major assemblies
- Assist in bus inspections according to state safety requirements
- Maintain a clean and orderly work environment
- Maintain written records as required and directed
- Follow Rapides Parish School Board policies
- Perform any other duties assigned
