About The Position

Assists in repair of all departmental equipment and vehicles. Performs scheduled maintenance on vehicles and equipment. Conducts road tests on repaired equipment and vehicles. Inventories and orders parts as needed. Performs minor welding projects as needed. Instructs and/or assists other employees with their duties. Maintains records of repairs and maintenance preformed. Participates in activities and duties related to emergency management during a local state of disaster as directed by appropriate county managers.

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED.
• 2 years experience as Mechanic or Mechanic Helper.
• Knowledge of automotive maintenance and repair.
• Good interpersonal skills; ability to deal effectively with other employees and elected officials.
• Ability to complete assignments accurately and in a timely manner.
• Mechanic certification may be required.
