Summary South Phoenix Oil & Gas Company searching for a Mechanical Assembly & Shipping Technician to support production and logistics operations. This role is a key contributor to the assembly, preparation, and movement of mechanical components and finished products, requiring strong attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and collaboration across teams. The Mechanical Assembly & Shipping Technician supports both mechanical assembly activities and material handling functions, including accurate parts selection and staging to ensure efficient production flow.

Requirements

  • High School diploma, associate degree, or Vocational School Certificate preferred
  • Valid driver's license

Nice To Haves

  • Ability to read and use a tape measure
  • Working knowledge of hand tools
  • Automotive or mechanical background; electrical assembly knowledge is a plus
  • Experience operating forklifts, slings, or similar material-handling equipment
  • Basic computer skills, including the ability to access drawings, email, and production documentation

Responsibilities

  • Assemble mechanical components and subassemblies using hand tools and assembly equipment in accordance with work instructions, drawings, and specifications
  • Follow detailed assembly instructions, engineering drawings, and production documentation to ensure accurate and consistent builds
  • Adhere to established safety procedures and safe working practices at all times
  • Communicate clearly with team members, supervisors, and cross-functional partners regarding work status, priorities, and issues
  • Lift, move, and position materials and components weighing up to 50 lbs.
  • Select, stage, and kit mechanical and electrical components for production and shipment in accordance with wok orders and Bills of Materials (BOMs), ensuring accuracy, completeness, and proper identification of parts
  • Utilize company’s MRP system to locate, identify, and track parts and materials, including understanding part numbers, storage locations, and material flow from receipt through production and shipment
  • Apply FIFO (First-In, First-Out) inventory practices to ensure proper stock rotation and prevent material expiration or obsolescence
  • Follow established kitting and material handling standards, including cleanliness, labeling and legibility, prioritization of work orders, and adherence to safety requirements
