A Mechanical Assembly Technician 2 is responsible to interpret blueprint drawings, work instructions, and technical specifications for the fabrication or repair of complex structural production and aircraft products. They need to have a working knowledge of assembly techniques, tooling, and company procedures to perform critical structural operations. Essential Functions and Responsibilities include the following: Assembles Mechanical and Sheet Metal Products using engineering drawings and sketches for aircraft and ground vehicles Review completed work and ensure that the final assemblies and details are protected from damage Ensure that all assembly work meet quality standards. Perform testing and functional checks of assembled products. Review drawings, and parts lists for accuracy and coordinates with other departments to resolve issues. Coordinate with repair station inspectors for final inspection and sign-off of completed tasks. Tear-down, evaluate and repair of returned components. Resolve assembly and documentation problems, report problems to the appropriate lead or supervisor for assistance and follows up with all non-compliance issues. Assist in on the job training Other Duties as assigned. Education & Experience High school diploma or general education degree (GED); and three to ten years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. One year certificate from college or technical school preferred Experience using precision measuring equipment Experience in use of sheet metal related shop equipment
