About The Position

Southern Specialties is looking for a hardworking Mechanical Assembly Technician to join our team at our new, climate-controlled facility. We build high-quality sheet metal products that require care, precision, and pride in your work. If you enjoy working with your hands, following blueprints, and being part of a team that makes things the right way — we want to hear from you! Work Hours: Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM

Requirements

• At least 2 years of experience working in a manufacturing assembly environment.
• Detail-oriented and possess the ability to complete assembly/turnkey products where tight-tolerances are required.
• Experience and safe operation of hand tools and power tools — and comfortable using tape measures and other measuring equipment.
• Able to read and follow written and verbal instructions related to job safety, quality, and operational procedures
• Can read/interpret blueprints or job packets to understand how things fit together.
• Strong attention to detail and pride in doing great work.
• Team player with a positive attitude and reliable work habits.
• Ability to function in fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for long periods.

Responsibilities

• Assemble products by following job packets, blueprints, and work instructions.
• Use hand tools and power tools like drills, screwdrivers, and rivet guns.
• Check your work to make sure everything meets quality and safety standards.
• Keep your work area clean and organized to help the team work efficiently.
• Work closely with teammates and supervisors to meet daily goals and deadlines.
• Help with final product inspections, packaging, and shipping when needed.
• Always follow safety rules and company policies.
