About The Position

The Mechanical Associate Project Manager assists in the full lifecycle management of mechanical construction projects, including estimating, planning, executing, and controlling project costs. Duties range from cost estimation and bid preparation to work planning, material supply management, developing safety and quality control plans, managing subcontractors, and financial forecasting. This is an office-based position with the requirement to travel to project field locations as needed.

Requirements

  • Technical knowledge of various field construction concepts, practices, and procedures.
  • Knowledge of construction, architectural, and building industry standard operating practices/procedures.
  • Knowledge of construction project scheduling, subcontracts, submittals, quality control, and safety.
  • Familiarity with scheduling, cost control, quality assurance, and performance standards in construction project management.
  • Familiarity with OSHA safety standards and construction safety regulations.
  • Understanding of construction processes, job hazard analysis (JHAs), safety protocols, and compliance standards.
  • Ability to follow and assist in enforcing Federal, State, and company labor and employment regulations.
  • Knowledge of remote location construction projects.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritize work and willingness to learn to manage multiple projects simultaneously as needed.
  • Ability to perform under deadlines and adjust work schedule to meet goals.
  • Use computers and software for communication, calculations, and documentation.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Microsoft Project is required.
  • Read and understand all types of plans and specifications.
  • Organize and maintain a tidy file system and work area.
  • Ability to travel to remote locations for short periods with little notice.
  • Ability to work in a Native Corporation multi-business environment.
  • Ability to operate a motor vehicle in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule, sometimes including weekends and holidays.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or Construction Management required; experience and equivalent skills may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.
  • Minimum of four (4) years of experience, preferably in project management or field supervision required.
  • Experience managing projects in remote locations is required.
  • Must have a valid driver’s license and be qualified to operate a vehicle under the conditions of Company’s Driving Policy.
  • Ability to pass a drug, driving, and background screenings.

Responsibilities

  • Assist in the preparation of detailed cost estimates for labor, materials, equipment, and subcontractor services for prospective projects.
  • Conduct quantity take-offs from drawings and specifications using estimating software or manual methods.
  • Collaborate with the estimating department to gather quotes from suppliers and subcontractors during the bidding phase.
  • Review project plans and specifications to identify potential risks, opportunities, and special requirements affecting the estimate.
  • Participate in bid reviews and assist in compiling final proposal documentation.
  • Assist the Project Manager in planning, organizing, and directing activities to construct the project successfully.
  • Ensure compliance with project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards within the boundaries of corporate policy and contract specifications.
  • Ensure the quality control plan is implemented and aligns with contract documents.
  • Update and monitor the project schedule and completion deliverables and communicate this information to the Project Manager on a regular basis.
  • Review, amend, and record field reporting documentation, including timecards, daily reports, daily quantities completed, and equipment logs.
  • Requisition supplies and materials to complete projects as needed.
  • Generate correspondence with the owner, suppliers, and subcontractors as needed.
  • Review pay estimates with the Project Manager and Estimator to ensure proper budgeting.
  • Represent the company in project meetings.
  • Travel to remote locations for work-related purposes for extended periods of time.
  • Work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner.
  • Perform other duties as directed.
