Discover opportunities to make a difference at RTX. What You Will Do Assist in program execution to evaluate the physical properties of materials, components, and structures. Conduct testing of mechanical systems and rotating machinery. Collaborate on innovation research projects at the RTX Technologies Research Center. Work with RTX business units to resolve technical issues. Explore opportunities to engage with advanced additive manufacturing technologies. What You Will Learn Precision test rig assembly and operation. Setting up and using data acquisition systems. Conducting mechanical measurements of components. Data processing using LabView, Excel, and MATLAB. Mechanical design execution in SolidWorks.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical Engineering, Materials Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
  • Candidate must not graduate prior to September 2026.

  • Familiarity with general laboratory protocols, including safety and standard operating practices.
  • Strong enthusiasm for technology and a quick ability to learn.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for both team-based and independent work environments.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with mechanical testing, data processing, and report writing.
  • Ability to excel as both an individual contributor and as part of a team.
  • Experience in hands-on, fast-paced laboratory environments.
  • Familiarity with mechanical behavior and systems fields.
  • Interest in gaining experience in post-test component and materials characterization and analysis.
