About The Position

Mechanical Design Engineer Position Overview We are a growing manufacturing company evolving our product lines and production methods. We are seeking a hands-on Mechanical Design Engineer to support product development, manufacturing execution, quality system development, and continuous process improvement. This position works closely with and reports to the Engineering Manager and collaborates across engineering, operations, supply chain, and quality. Significant time will be spent in a production environment, supporting both current products and future growth.

Requirements

  • 2–4 years of mechanical engineering experience, preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks; able to work independently and learn new tools with minimal supervision
  • Experience creating and releasing engineering drawings; familiarity with basic GD&T preferred
  • Comfortable working in a hands-on manufacturing environment with regular shop-floor involvement
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and adjust priorities as business needs evolve
  • Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across multiple departments

Responsibilities

  • Support ongoing product development, production ramp-up, and future repeatable product variants
  • Design and modify mechanical components and assemblies using SolidWorks
  • Create, release, and manage engineering drawings using PDM
  • Support testing, validation, and engineering documentation
  • Provide hands-on manufacturing support, including troubleshooting, assembly support, and process optimization
  • Collaborate with operations to improve manufacturability, consistency, and throughput
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives across engineering and manufacturing processes, always striving to pursue excellence
  • Assist in developing and implementing quality standards, inspection processes, and documentation
  • Support quality activities as manufacturing transitions to a combination of outsourced components and in-house assembly
  • Collaborate with quality, operations, and supply chain to establish repeatable, scalable processes with a humble, team-first mindset
  • Work closely with operations, quality, and supply chain teams to align engineering decisions with production and business needs
  • Support engineering-to-manufacturing handoff and ongoing sustainment efforts while giving respect to the expertise of all teams
