Position Overview: Join a talented team of mechanical engineers and designers developing systems used to print and personalize credit cards, passports, driver’s licenses, national IDs and more. In this role, you will design, prototype, and transition mechanical solutions into production. You will receive direction from Mechanical Engineers and collaborate closely with cross-function partners to deliver accurate, timely results. This role is based onsite to support hands‑on design and collaboration, with flexibility to work from home when appropriate.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of product development experience.
  • Associate’s degree in engineering CAD or related field.
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks CAD software.
  • Ability to interpret and create engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Must be able to lawfully work within the US and have unrestricted work authorization for US

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with injection-molded, plastic-part design.
  • Experience with sheet metal and machined part design.
  • Hands on prototyping and 3D printing experience.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High mechanical aptitude and comfort working with tools.
  • Detail-oriented, self-directed, organized and deadline driven.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to thrive in a highly collaborative, team-focused environment.
  • Understanding of GD&T standards (ASME Y14.5).

Responsibilities

  • Interpret product requirements and develop mechanical design solutions.
  • Create part drawings, solid models and bills of material (BOMs).
  • Participate in design and drawing reviews.
  • Collaborate with suppliers to source components and materials.
  • Prototype, test, and iterate on designs.
  • Apply sound engineering judgment to solve technical problems.
  • Maintain and update mechanical subassemblies throughout product lifecycle.
  • Apply strong understanding of manufacturing processes to ensure high quality parts.
  • Prepare and document accurate Engineering Change Orders (ECO).
