The Mechanical Engineer I is an entry-level engineering role designed to provide broad exposure across product development, manufacturing, quality, and process improvement functions. This role supports the execution of engineering initiatives aligned with US Valve’s strategic goals, including tool standardization, intern mentorship, and cross-site collaboration. The ideal candidate is a hands-on problem solver with a strong foundation in mechanical or industrial engineering principles and a desire to grow within a multidisciplinary team.

Requirements

  • Proficiency in CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)

  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and projects to meet deadlines
  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field
  • 0–2 years of relevant engineering experience (internships/co-ops included)

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop new mechanical products, components tooling, and/or test equipment using CAD tools such as SolidWorks or Simulation.
  • Support new product development efforts by participating in concept generation, prototyping, testing, and validation activities.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure new designs meet performance, manufacturability, and cost requirements.
  • Provide sustaining engineering support for existing products, including design updates, cost reduction initiatives, and quality improvements.
  • Investigate and resolve product issues through root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions.
  • Support manufacturing operations by troubleshooting technical issues on the shop floor and implementing process improvements.
  • Assist in the creation and maintenance of engineering documentation including BOMs, drawings, specifications, and test protocols.
  • Participate in the implementation and training of engineering tools such as SolidWorks PDM and ensure proper use across the team.
  • Contribute to the standardization and accessibility of engineering resources including sizing tools, drawings, and specifications.
  • Participate in supplier audits and assist in the qualification of new components and vendors.
  • Ensure compliance with industry standards and internal quality management systems during design and development activities.
  • Collaborate with Quality, Manufacturing, and Sales teams to support product launches and continuous improvement projects.
