This position is located in Middletown Ohio. The role of our Mechanical Engineer is to add to our team that is responsible for product improvements and new developments on our High-Pressure Processing (HPP) machines. You will work together with colleagues in a small but very competent engineering team with extensive experience of pressure vessels. JBT Marel is one of the largest solutions providers to the global food processing industry. The largest food processors within the fruit, vegetable, meat, poultry, seafood, and bakery industries. Avure, a JBT Marel business unit, manufactures High Pressure Processing (HPP) machines that pasteurize food through high pressure instead of heat and chemicals making food healthier and taste better.

Requirements

  • This position requires a Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering. A Master’s in Mechanical Engineering preferred.
  • 5+ years experience in mechanical and design engineering.
  • 5+ years Modeling in Solid Works or a similar program.
  • 5+ years experience with sheet metal design.
  • 3+ years experience with weldment design.
  • Successful project experience.
  • Knowledge of Product Data Management (PDM) systems.
  • Strong analytical and documentation skills required.
  • The ideal candidate will possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills, the ability to multitask, work in a fast-paced environment, and have time management skills.
  • Must have the ability to be proactive and drive change.
  • Be willing to become the company specialist regarding hydraulics, pneumatics and water systems designs and standards.
  • Up to 10% travel including international.
  • You must be authorized to work in the US without sponsorship now or in the future.

Nice To Haves

  • 3+ years experience with machining design.
  • Experience with root cause corrective action tools and processes.
  • Experience with “Team Center”- PLM.
  • Experience with “SolidWorks” and “Solidworks PDM” – CAD.
  • Experience with ISO-standards and ISO-tolerances
  • Experience with and Metric designs
  • Proven track record of project success by overcoming obstacles.
  • Understanding of UL, CE, OSHA, IBC, and other industry codes and requirements.
  • Experience with sanitary design
  • Experience with SolidWorks and Teamcenter systems administration
  • Experience with AutoCad or Draftsight
  • Experience with hydraulics and pneumatics

Responsibilities

  • Serve as a Mechanical Engineer on daily work as well as on development projects.
  • Complete detailed design work and drawings with 2D or 3D modeling tools.
  • Enter drawings, BoM’s, and other documentation into a PLM database.
  • Check and review other teammates’ drawings, BoM’s, and calculations.
  • Specify and order materials for development projects.
  • Track progress and expedite material orders for projects as required.
  • Ensure that new designs are safe, cost effective, reliable, and easy to service.
  • Select components and assemblies to meet national and international standards and requirements.
  • Support the organization when engineering related questions arise.
  • Resolve problems, identify trends, and determine system improvements.
  • Work with subcontractors and outside specialists when needed.
  • Participate in customers’ meetings to improve their processes and usage of their equipment.
  • Participate in Safety reviews of new designs.
