Requirements

  • Genuinely excited about mechanical engineering and building tangible products (not just digital renderings)
  • Strong SolidWorks skills with background in design-for-manufacturing or metal fabrication
  • Thrives in an energetic, smaller-scale shop setting-hands-on, team-oriented, and precision-minded
  • Enthusiastic about dividing time between computer-based design and shop floor collaboration
  • Self-directed, well-organized, and brings innovative thinking to team challenges
  • Must be legally authorized for U.S. employment without requiring sponsorship, and able to work on-site in Randolph, NY

Responsibilities

  • Create parts and assemblies using SolidWorks
  • Drive custom fabrication projects from initial sketches through working prototypes
  • Partner directly with shop technicians on the floor to validate designs and optimize manufacturing processes
  • Bridge engineering and production by spending significant time where the building happens
  • Develop technical drawings and documentation supporting manufacturing workflows and regulatory requirements
  • Apply practical problem-solving to overcome mechanical obstacles and enhance our component library
