Visit us at packaging.toppan.com Summary Description: While reporting directly to the department manager, the following job description outlines the essential functions of this role within the Machinery department. The following list is not exhaustive, and the employee is expected to assume any and all duties assigned by management irrespective of whether such duties are specifically included in the following. What you’ll be doing: Design and optimize heat sealing machinery – new and existing Oversee the fabrication and part sourcing of machines throughout the build Create a majority of all 3D models, assemblies, and drawings of machinery and components Troubleshooting – machine assembly issues, customer issues (could be over the phone), part deficiencies, etc. Design, select, and/or approve new and substitute components Quote standard and custom machines Interact and discuss with customers about new machine purchases and options Create BOMs, complete cost/margin analysis, and proficiently navigate current ERP/vault software. Support Sales, Marketing, and Parts & Service for any necessary machine information and promotions Regularly interact with production, other engineers, and the CNC shop in a positive manner Complete all tasks in a safety-conscious manner This position is located at our DeKalb, IL Facility.

Requirements

  • 4-year Bachelor (or Masters) degree in related Engineering field
  • Material science knowledge
  • GD&T knowledge
  • Proficiency in Solidworks and AutoCAD
  • Proficiency in pneumatics, hydraulics preferred as well
  • Electrical/controls knowledge and experience preferred
  • Great communication and people skills
  • Motivated individual with some leadership qualities
  • Safety focus
