Opportunity Overview As a Mechanical Engineer, you will play a hands-on role in delivering production-ready hardware for Lifepoint’s RF and optical test equipment. This position focuses on mechanical design, physical integration, and build support of complex electronic systems, working closely with electrical engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to take designs from concept through volume production.

Requirements

  • BSc or higher in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years of hands-on mechanical or electromechanical hardware development experience
  • Experience with mechanical design and integration of electronic hardware systems
  • Proficiency with SolidWorks for parts, assemblies, and drawings
  • Hands-on experience with sheet metal, plastics, enclosures, and PCBA packaging
  • Experience with thermal management using practical heat transfer methods and physical testing
  • Familiarity with cabling, grounding, shielding, and airflow management
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and supplier collaboration
  • Knowledge of ANSI Y14.5 and GD&T standards
  • Strong ownership, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills

Responsibilities

  • Own mechanical design of hardware assemblies including chassis, enclosures, RF shielding, and PCB interfaces
  • Create detailed CAD models, fabrication drawings, and assembly documentation using SolidWorks
  • Drive hands-on hardware builds, integration, and bring-up of prototypes and engineering units
  • Perform tolerance stack-ups and fit checks to ensure reliable assembly and serviceability
  • Design and implement practical thermal solutions validated through physical testing and iteration
  • Partner closely with electrical engineers to resolve layout, grounding, shielding, and cabling challenges
  • Apply DFM/DFX principles to improve yield, reliability, and manufacturability
  • Work directly with vendors and contract manufacturers to support fabrication, cost optimization, and lead-time reduction
