About The Position

The Mechanical Engineering Intern will work closely with engineering teams across AEVEX to create solutions and systems that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will participate in all phases of product development and will be part of a group of hardworking engineers whose expertise ensures the success of engineering projects and programs. You’ll have the opportunity develop and refine technical skills working alongside industry experts in aircraft design, avionics and autonomy. The AEVEX Internship Program gives individuals who are early in their career the opportunity to gain valuable learning opportunities while discussing goals, evaluating performance and receiving regular feedback. This Engineering Intern will work along side the Tactical Systems Engineering Team through a variety of disciplines to envision, design, and develop products and systems while developing and refining their technical skills.

  • Experience with SOLIDWORKS
  • Successfully completed courses in Structures, Manufacturing, and/or Design Engineering
  • Recent degree or current enrollment in an engineering program in Aerospace or Mechanical Engineering
  • Validated academic excellence (3.0 GPA and higher)
  • Ability to obtain/maintain a Secret DoD clearance, U.S. Citizenship required.

Responsibilities

  • Shadow and support mechanical engineers on daily project and tasks.
  • Collaborate with manager to establish internship goals and steps on achieving those goals throughout duration of the program
  • Assisting the overall project development under the supervision of an engineering group leader
  • Collaborating with senior staff to design prototypes for new aircraft, aircraft components, ground control stations and support equipment
  • Perform field tests on equipment and document results
  • Research solutions to new products components and recommend upgrades
  • Perform data collection and analysis
  • Generate reports
  • Undertake any tasks as requested by members of staff
  • Perform other duties as required.
  • Regular and reliable attendance on a full time basis [or in accordance with posted schedule].
