About The Position

Pay is up to $75,000, depending on experience Must be a United States citizen or Green Card holder No remote Full-time, permanent W-2 employee Full benefits No relocation Located in the Richfield, Wisconsin area This full-time, permanent Mechanical Layout Engineer opportunity is at a well-respected industrial manufacturer of environmentally friendly products that reduce pollution, fossil fuel usage and costs. Their products sell themselves because they pay for themselves in less than two years but last significantly longer. In the company's 40 years of existence, they have never had a layoff. Sales consistently grow and the company is very financially sound. The manufacturing facility is very clean and modern. The environment is employee-friendly, family-friendly and free of politics and drama. The company is growing and the position is available due to their growth. There is no travel associated with this position.

Requirements

  • 3+ years of professional experience in 2D AutoCAD mechanical design (experience in a manufacturing or "steel" environment is highly preferred)
  • Strong Mechanical Aptitude: Ability to understand how assembly drawings are manufactured and a genuine interest in seeing designs come to life on a shop floor
  • A solid and stable work history reflecting an average of at least three years at each prior employer (no frequent job-hopping)
  • A preference for 2D design excellence: Understanding and appreciating that 2D is the primary requirement for this industry’s client base
  • Being a US citizen or green card holder
  • Having a residence within a 45-minute drive

Nice To Haves

  • Educational Foundation: An associate or bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Design, or a related technical field is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Engineer custom 2D mechanical submittal drawings for complex heat transfer systems using AutoCAD, ensuring all dimensions and tolerances meet customer specifications
  • Develop comprehensive Bills of Materials (BOMs) and sales order job packets to guide the production floor from approval to final assembly
  • Collaborate directly with the production floor, visiting the manufacturing area to view your assigned projects in progress and updating "as-built" master drawings post-shipment
  • Act as a technical point of contact for clients, answering engineering questions during the submittal process and ensuring all designs are "approved for production.
  • Utilize internal custom AutoCAD commands and protocols to maintain department structure while offering guidance to other team members on technical inquiries
