The Mechanical Project Inspector position will represent Facilities Management projects providing quality control and inspection expertise in the area of mechanical systems. Specifically, they will work on construction projects to ensure materials and equipment in any phase of manufacture, shop or field fabrication, delivery or installation comply with contract documents. Experience in healthcare construction is a must.

  • 2+ years’ experience with all ICC codes, specifically mechanical.
  • 2+ years’ experience with all state specific ICC mechanical codes
  • Experience in the healthcare construction industry.

Nice To Haves

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in construction management, architecture, Mechanical Engineering, Surveying, or related field preferred.
  • Certified Mechanical Inspector Certification (CMI), Appropriate state issued Mechanical Inspector’s Certification or equivalent license.

Responsibilities

  • Inspects materials, installation, and layout of work on the project site and evaluates its acceptability.
  • Determines and notifies contractor of unacceptable material or work with the Construction Contracts Manager’s (CCM) approval.
  • Serves as liaison between CCM, operations, Owner, and contractor during construction.
  • Performs or supervises quality control testing.
  • Maintains thorough and accurate records documenting the entire process of the project, which includes daily log for each job, updates from weekly progress meetings, updates from progress meetings with contractors, and all findings during quality control or inspection of the material, work, and job site.
  • Verifies quantities for contractors monthly pay estimate.
  • Other duties as assigned.
  • Attendance at work during normal business hours.
