Ameresco currently has a new opportunity for a Mechanical Superintendent to join our Federal Team in support of the design, construction, and successful implementation of multimillion-dollar large-scale energy savings projects. This position will support projects around Washington, DC.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 5 years’ experience in commercial or government construction industry.
  • OSHA 30-hour Certification or EM-385-1 Certification.
  • Ability to review confidential US security information.

Nice To Haves

  • Demonstrated experience in mechanical and electrical construction.
  • In-depth knowledge of the construction process including scheduling, contract administration, equipment, and manpower.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead field operations.
  • Knowledge and experience with performing Quality Control management
  • Strong verbal, written, computer, technical communication and presentation skills.
  • Computer software proficiency with Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Proven experience with OSHA safety standards, building systems, engineering, and project management regulations, practices, and codes.
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities and foster positive business relationships.

Responsibilities

  • Provide onsite leadership for direct subcontractor workforce, control and direction of all field and construction management activities.
  • Support the Project Manager with planning and organizing project work, including management of the critical path and all critical path activities, to assure all work is executed in accordance with the contract documents. This includes the submittal schedule, material deliveries, schedule updates, work progress/productivity and associated changes.
  • Supervise the timely and cost-effective installation of the contracted work.
  • Develop a plan for sequence of work and project schedule with the Project Manager and scheduling team.
  • Support the Project Manager in the development of logistics plans and schedules during pre-construction and early project activities.
  • Provide ongoing project status updates with all parties throughout design and construction.
  • Provide project reports, documentation, technical assistance, support, and collaboration.
  • Develop comprehensive understanding of owner contract, subcontracts, and purchase orders.
  • Ensure compliance with company safety, industry, trade, and federal/local jurisdictional standards, practices, codes.
  • Perform other duties as required.
