About The Position

Mechanical Systems Integrator — Roofing Automation Worksite: Onsite Arrangement: Contract-to-Hire (6 months) Shift: First Rate: $25–$32/hour — overtime-heavy; those who excel often progress more quickly Build Machines That Build Roofs Join a team that turns engineered concepts into reliable, production-grade automated equipment for roofing applications. You’ll integrate mechanical systems from the ground up, prove performance through testing, and leave every station safer and more efficient than you found it. How You’ll Make an Impact Translate engineering drawings into action: plan sequences, verify dimensions, and assemble to spec Construct and align frames, drive trains, motors, and shafts Install drums/rolls with precision bearings; route pneumatics and hydraulics Fit sensors, brackets, and guarding; verify clearances and safety interlocks Conduct operational tests and final adjustments to meet tolerance, finish, and performance criteria Operate forklifts and cranes to handle heavy components safely Support logistics for shipping and receiving completed machines Perform daily preventative maintenance on assembly tools; sustain a clean, orderly work area Follow safety manuals and operating procedures; suggest and implement improvements Take on other duties as needed to meet build schedules

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED
  • At least 3 years of machine building or industrial automation assembly
  • Strong blueprint/engineering drawing interpretation
  • Hands-on experience assembling automated industrial equipment
  • Competency with hand tools and precision measuring devices (calipers, micrometers, etc.)
  • Crane rigging experience (required)
  • Forklift operation experience (certification preferred)
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Office, and ERP systems
  • Excellent communication and attention to detail

Nice To Haves

  • Associate or technical degree, or trade school certification
  • 5+ years in machine building/industrial automation
  • Experience as a maintenance or service technician
  • Exposure to custom, high-mix machine builds
