We are looking for an experienced leader to lead commissioning, reliability and optimization of distribution automation. It’s an exciting time at McMaster-Carr as the next round of automation in our distribution centers becomes part of our day-to-day operations. Automated storage and retrieval systems (AS/RS), carton build and lid machines, and sorters are just some of the technologies that are in the scope of this role.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems, mechanical, electrical, or computer science engineering (or equivalent)
  • 5+ years of professional experience in maintenance and engineering, including experience with AS/RS, conveyor systems, robotics and sorters. Knowledge of most of the hardware, controls, software, process design, analytics, and AI disciplines is preferred
  • Experience in a fast-paced, high uptime, operational environment
  • Proven leadership experience including managing teams and projects simultaneously
  • Excellent communication skills and advanced project management skills
  • Strong business and financial acumen paired with domain and technical expertise
  • Demonstrated ability to think strategically and roadmap, plan, and execute
