About The Position

Writes scripts. gathers, and writes news stories. Responsible for video and audio production, editing, camera operations and inventory control. Performs other special duties and completes special projects as assigned.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree from four-year college or university; or six years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
An additional four (4) years of experience in a related field is required.
An individual should have knowledge of Word Processing software, Design software, Development software, Internet software, and Spreadsheet software.
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating.
Must have received Media Specialist and computer training.
Must have working knowledge of computer graphics programs, knowledge of basic maintenance practices for Digital or DSLR video equipment, and familiarity with standard three-point lighting techniques.
Must be able to demonstrate non-linear editing experience, experience in single and multiple camera video productions, and basic audio production skills.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk or hear. The employee frequently is required to sit; stand; use hands to finger, handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, and kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee is occasionally required to walk. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
