About The Position

Plaza Podiatry, a division of US Foot & Ankle Specialists, is seeking a dependable and patient-focused Medical Assistant to join our podiatry clinic. In this role, you’ll work closely with physicians providing hands-on patient care and assisting with in-office procedures in a fast-paced outpatient setting. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a mix of clinical care and patient interaction and wants to expand their skills in a specialty practice. We offer hands-on training, clinical in-service training for employees, and a supportive team environment.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED required
Completion of a Medical Assistant program OR 1+ year of clinical experience
Strong communication, teamwork, and multitasking skills
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced clinic environment
Detail-oriented, professional, and patient-focused
Ability to travel between local office locations, as needed
Proficient with Microsoft 365 (Word, Excel, Outlook, Teams)

Nice To Haves

CMA or RMA certification preferred
Experience with medical terminology and insurance processes (preferred)

Responsibilities

Welcome, room, and prepare patients for exams and in-office procedures
Take vitals, update medical histories, record medications/allergies, and document in the EMR
Assist physicians with minor procedures, post-op care, digital X-rays, and basic podiatric services (nail care, callus removal, diabetic shoe fitting)
Apply dressings, DME, and provide patient instructions and education
Manage lab specimens, complete insurance verifications and pre-authorizations, and process prescriptions as directed
Make post-operative phone calls, answer patient questions, and provide excellent customer service
Open, prep, clean, and close exam rooms; sterilize instruments; manage inventory and supplies
Maintain accurate documentation, support back-office operations, and ensure HIPAA compliance
