Requirements

A minimum of 3+ years of practical experience in the medical assisting field, demonstrating a strong understanding of industry practices and standards.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) credential is required to ensure credibility and expertise in the role.

Nice To Haves

CPR certification is preferred, reflecting a commitment to maintaining essential healthcare skills.
No prior teaching experience is necessary; however, a passion for student success and professional development is essential.

Responsibilities

Secure and manage a robust network of externship sites for Medical Assistant students, ensuring alignment with program goals and industry standards.
Achieve and maintain a minimum of 40% extern-to-hire conversion rate across assigned sites.
Conduct regular site visits to assess student performance, provide feedback, and strengthen relationships with externship partners.
Ensure compliance with federal, state, and accreditation requirements, including adherence to TWC regulations.
Collaborate with Career Services and Placement teams to facilitate seamless transitions from externship to full-time employment opportunities.
Provide guidance and counseling to students on attendance, professionalism, and performance expectations during their externship experience.
Conduct externship orientations and assist students with resume writing, interview preparation, and other career readiness activities.
Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation, including timecards, evaluations, and affiliation agreements.
Track student progress throughout the externship, ensuring completion of final evaluations and exit interviews.
Engage in outreach and networking activities to promote the program and develop new externship opportunities within the medical community.
