About The Position
The Medical Assistant II provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in a busy outpatient urology clinic. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient clinic operations, high-quality patient care, and a positive patient experience. The Medical Assistant II works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff in a fast-paced clinical environment.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required or preferred
- Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required or preferred based on facility guidelines
- Urology clinic experience required
- Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient or clinical setting
- Knowledge of basic clinical procedures and patient care practices
- Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
- Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
- Professional, dependable, and patient-focused approach
Nice To Haves
- Experience in outpatient, primary care, or specialty clinics
- Phlebotomy and EKG experience
- Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical workflows
- Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced healthcare environment
Responsibilities
- Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and clinical procedures
- Prepare patients for visits by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
- Perform basic clinical tasks including injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and wound care, within scope of practice
- Administer medications and immunizations per provider orders and established protocols
- Prepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and medical supplies
- Accurately document patient information in electronic medical records (EMR)
- Provide patient education and post-visit instructions as directed
- Schedule appointments and assist with administrative or front-office duties as needed
- Maintain infection control, safety, and compliance standards
- Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and healthcare staff
- Support clinic workflow efficiency in a high-volume setting
- Float as needed to up to five additional urology clinics within the area
