About The Position

The Medical Assistant II provides clinical and administrative support to healthcare providers in a busy outpatient urology clinic. This role plays a key part in ensuring efficient clinic operations, high-quality patient care, and a positive patient experience. The Medical Assistant II works collaboratively with physicians, nurses, and clinical staff in a fast-paced clinical environment.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required
  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required or preferred
  • Medical Assistant certification (CMA, RMA, or equivalent) required or preferred based on facility guidelines
  • Urology clinic experience required
  • Previous experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient or clinical setting
  • Knowledge of basic clinical procedures and patient care practices
  • Proficiency with electronic medical records (EMR) systems
  • Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Professional, dependable, and patient-focused approach

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in outpatient, primary care, or specialty clinics
  • Phlebotomy and EKG experience
  • Familiarity with medical terminology and clinical workflows
  • Ability to adapt quickly in a fast-paced healthcare environment

Responsibilities

  • Assist healthcare providers with patient examinations and clinical procedures
  • Prepare patients for visits by obtaining vital signs, medical histories, and chief complaints
  • Perform basic clinical tasks including injections, EKGs, specimen collection, and wound care, within scope of practice
  • Administer medications and immunizations per provider orders and established protocols
  • Prepare and maintain exam rooms, equipment, and medical supplies
  • Accurately document patient information in electronic medical records (EMR)
  • Provide patient education and post-visit instructions as directed
  • Schedule appointments and assist with administrative or front-office duties as needed
  • Maintain infection control, safety, and compliance standards
  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients and healthcare staff
  • Support clinic workflow efficiency in a high-volume setting
  • Float as needed to up to five additional urology clinics within the area
