About The Position

Responsible for assisting trauma surgeons with patient care. Responsible for chart management and patient flow. Performs delegated medical tasks and may perform clerical duties. Where the electronic system is in use, this position will utilize the system as documented in the department and/or FPI standard operating procedures and processes, and perform other duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE High school diploma or general education degree (GED) preferred Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution Medical Assistant certification (such as NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, NHA, AMT, etc.) is required 5 or more years medical assisting and medical office experience and 2 or more years of specialty experience Demonstrated skill in venipuncture preferred CPR certification is required Total Rewards The referenced base salary range represents the low and high end of University of Maryland’s Faculty Physician’s Inc. salary range for this position. Some candidates will not be eligible for the upper end of the salary range. Exact salary will ultimately depend on multiple factors, which may include the successful candidate’s geographical location, skills, work experience, market conditions, internal equity, responsibility factor and span of control, education/ training and other qualifications. Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant Program from an accredited institution
  • Medical Assistant certification (such as NAHP, NCCT, AAMA, NHA, AMT, etc.) is required
  • 5 or more years medical assisting and medical office experience
  • 2 or more years of specialty experience
  • CPR certification is required
