Make a Difference We are seeking a versatile and patient-focused team member to serve in a dual-role capacity as a Medical Assistant and Patient Care Technician. This position supports both clinic operations and Preo-Op/ PACU functions. The Medical Assistant/Patient Care Tech will be responsible for assisting the provider facilitation of patient visit and procedures, routine laboratory tests, referrals, and quality outcomes for the population of the practice. This role includes additional clinical and patient care responsibilities as assigned. As an MA, you will also get to actively participate in Network quality initiatives regarding best practices. Requirements

  • Medical Assistant (0.6 FTE - 48 hours/Bi-weekly) Graduate/certificate of completion from a recognized medical assisting program OR a High School Diploma/GED + one year of medical assistant experience in a physician practice within the past three years.
  • Medical Assistant certification required within 6 months of hire
  • Patient Care Technician (0.3 FTE - 24 hours/ Bi-weekly) High School diploma or GED
  • Ability to use a computer for documentation and work related purposes
  • Strong written, verbal and nonverbal interpersonal and professional communication skills are required.

  • Three (3) months of Clinical Experience required OR currently enrolled in Nursing school

Responsibilities

  • Assisting the provider facilitation of patient visit and procedures
  • Routine laboratory tests
  • Process referrals
  • Medication refills
  • Quality outcomes for the population of the practice
  • Prepare exam rooms and treatment areas for patient use including required cleaning and stocking of supplies
  • Room patients and manage an efficient flow of provider’s caseload
  • Obtain necessary vital signs, EKGs, and/or specimen collection
  • Documentation of care using the EPIC EMR system
  • Perform Point of Care Testing based on patient’s chief complaint and available protocols
  • Maintain positive relationships with patients, providers, and staff
