About The Position

Position: Medical Assistant/Patient Support Assistant Location: Skokie and Evanston, IL Full Time/Part Time: Full Time (40 hours per week) Hours: Monday to Friday 7:00AM-6:00PM, 1 Saturday rotation a month Required Travel: Travel between Skokie and Evanston Specialty Suites office when needed

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent work experience is required.
• CPR certification through the American Heart Association required
• One year of work experience required, previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.

Nice To Haves

• Graduate of an accredited medical assisting program is preferred, but not required
• Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred, but not required
• previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required
