About The Position

Transend MSO, Inc. provides administrative support to New Oakland Family Centers who offers top-tier psychiatric care, therapeutic counseling, and educational services to individuals and families. The Medical Assistant/Receptionist plays a vital dual role, supporting both clinical and administrative functions within the FACE to FACE Partial Hospital and Outpatient Programs. This position involves direct interaction with consumers as well as collaboration with multidisciplinary teams across the organization to ensure efficient, compassionate care and smooth office operations.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Strong communication and coordination skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse populations.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism and customer service focus.

Nice To Haves

  • Proficiency in data entry and electronic medical records (EMR) systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform front desk duties including answering phones professionally, managing messages, and scheduling appointments.
  • Support intake procedures by ensuring all required documentation is completed and properly filed.
  • Maintain accurate and timely data entry into the EMR system; update consumer information, document encounters, and ensure all records are current.
  • Collect and document consumer payments.
  • Assist with opening and closing office procedures.
  • Obtain vital signs (BP, HR, Wt and Ht) for consumers as directed and document findings appropriately.
  • Facilitate lab-related tasks, including obtaining consents, completing requisition forms, and assisting with urine specimen collection.
  • Support telehealth operations in collaboration with nurses and prescribers.
  • Maintain and inventory first aid kits and medication samples under nurse supervision.
  • Effectively manage crisis situations in accordance with clinic protocol.
  • Maintain professional boundaries, communicate consistently with staff, participate in team meetings, and adapt to a dynamic work environment.
  • Assist with coverage to other NOFC locations, as needed.
  • Accept feedback, pursue professional growth, stay current with training, and perform additional duties as needed to support clinic operations.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
