About The Position

Medical Assistant - Hematology/Oncology - Torrey Pines This is a full-time, benefited position with a regular schedule of Monday through Friday, from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. There are no weekend or holiday shifts. The position is based at Scripps Clinic Torrey Pines but may require occasional travel to other locations as needed. Why join Scripps Health? Requirements

  • Completion of a formal Medical Assistant Program OR hold a Medical Assistant Certification OR have a minimum of two years of experience as a military corpsman
  • BLS certification for the Healthcare Provider by the American Heart Association (AHA)

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months of experience working as Medical Assistant
  • EKG experience
  • Hematology/Oncology experience
  • Assisting with procedures

Responsibilities

  • Rooming patients, checking vitals, assisting with procedures
  • EKGs
  • Maintains a clean, organized, and safe environment
  • Collecting patient data in person and by phone
  • Stocking and reorganizing supplies
  • Ordering supplies
  • Check in with patients throughout their appointment to ensure they are comfortable for their chemo treatment
  • Scheduling return visits as needed
