About The Position

As a Medical Assistant, reporting to Manager, Central Administration, you will be the first contact for patient care, responsible for administrative responsibilities in addition to patient care. Working onsite, you will perform varied activities and moderately complex administrative, operational, and customer support assignments. You will typically work on semi-routine assignments. Work location: CenterWell Hunters Creek Orlando, FL

Requirements

  • Successful completion of MA school/training program or a Certified/Registered Medical Assistant or 5+ years of experience and approval from Provider
  • CPR Certified
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • This role is considered patient facing and is part of the company's Tuberculosis (TB) screening program. If selected for this role, you will be required to be screened for TB
  • Bilingual English/Spanish. Must be able to speak, read and write in both languages without limitations or assistance. See Additional Information on testing.
  • Any Humana associate who speaks with a member in a language other than English must take a language proficiency assessment, provided by an outside vendor, to ensure competency. Applicants will be required to take the Interagency Language Rating (ILR) test as provided by the Federal Government.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified or Registered Medication/vaccine administration experience
  • 1+ years MA experience
  • Hands-on professional Phlebotomy experience with blood draws, etc.
  • Value Based Care experience including knowledge of HEDIS, CPT/ICD coding, and CAHPS/HOS Patient Experience.

Responsibilities

  • Perform Clinical responsibilities include discussing symptoms, obtaining vital signs, and administering medications and vaccines.
  • Performing phlebotomy, collecting specimens, and conducting diagnostic screening tests.
  • Sterilize and cleaning equipment, maintaining examination rooms, and documenting information into the electronic medical records system.
  • Collaborate with Physicians and Advanced Practice Providers.
  • Deliver direct patient care dependent on what active certification allows.
