About The Position

Description Responsibilities: Under the supervision of medication clinic administration will carry out duties to support the smooth functioning of the medication clinic. Responsible for a variety of clinical record keeping and information gathering activities. Provides support to nursing staff with those duties that do not require the specialized education and licensure of a Registered Nurse. Obtains information from outside sources, including hospitals, other CMHSPs, schools, and outside medical practices regarding consumers. May obtain vital signs on consumer. Responsible for entering this information into the electronic medical record for the consumer. Completes requests for prior authorizations for medications from insurers. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program in such a manner that fulfills CMHA-CEI’s mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Possession of a certificate from an accredited education program is required.
  • Certified Clinical Medical Assistant (CCMA); Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) and National Certified Medical Assistant (NCMA) is required.
  • A minimum of one (1) year of experience with individuals with mental health disorders, developmental disabilities, or severe emotional disturbance is required.
  • Possession of First Aid and CPR Certification or willingness to obtain this at employer’s expense within 90 days of hire required.
  • Possession of a valid Michigan driver’s license and reliable transportation for job related use required.
  • Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, Medicaid/Medicare verification, education verification, and verification of an acceptable work history.
  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment 5-panel drug screen.
