About The Position

Medical Laboratory Scientist at Providence St. Mary Medical Center in Apple Valley, CA. This position is full-time and will work 8-hour, Night shifts. The Clinical Laboratory Scientist is responsible for the accurate and timely reporting of high complexity laboratory test results with minimal supervision. CLS personnel are capable of performing pre-analytical, analytical and post-analytical duties including specimen evaluation, data analysis, and instrument maintenance and problem resolution. They often work with acute-care and outpatient caregivers, along with other Laboratory Services staff in performing their duties. Providence caregivers are not simply valued – they’re invaluable. Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree
• Coursework/Training and 16 semesters or equivalent quarter units of chemistry, which must include clinical chemistry, OR analytical chemistry
• Coursework/Training and 18 semester or equivalent quarter units of biology, which must include hematology, immunology, and medical microbiology
• Coursework/Training and 3 semester or equivalent quarter units of physics (light and electricity)
• Upon hire: California Clinical Laboratory Scientist License California
• 1 year of Internship - prerequisite to the State Exam

Nice To Haves

• 2 years of Clinical lab experience in a hospital setting.
