Pima Medical Institute Current OpeningsColorado Springs, CO
22h$31 - $39

About The Position

You've spent years mastering the science behind the work — the precision, the protocols, the problem-solving that defines a great MLT. Now imagine bringing that expertise into the classroom and watching students have their own "aha" moments. At Pima Medical Institute, that's exactly what you'll do every day. We're looking for an experienced Medical Laboratory Technician or Technologist who's ready to step into a rewarding instructor role — one that lets you keep your skills sharp while making a real difference in students' lives and careers.

Requirements

  • Associate degree from a regionally or nationally accredited institution.
  • At least 3 years of hands-on experience as an MLT or Medical Laboratory Technologist.
  • Active credential from a nationally recognized, accredited MLT/MLT agency.
  • Current license or certification as required by local, state, or federal law.
  • Strong communicator, comfortable with Microsoft Office, and able to translate technical knowledge into clear, accessible instruction.

Nice To Haves

  • 1 year of instructional experience in a related field (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Designing and delivering engaging lessons that bring lab science to life — through hands-on demonstrations, real-world examples, and one-on-one guidance.
  • Mentoring students through lab procedures, helping them build confidence and competency with every technique they master.
  • Keeping the lab environment safe, organized, and professionally run — just like you would in a clinical setting.
  • Tracking student progress and stepping in early when someone needs extra support to succeed.
  • Connecting students to the broader MLT community through guest speakers, clinic visits, and field experiences.
  • Collaborating with the Clinical Director to support students during their clinical rotations.
  • Contributing to the smooth operation of the program by helping manage supplies and equipment as needed.

Benefits

  • Medical, dental, and vision coverage (eligible at 30 hours/week).
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • Employee Stock Ownership Plan (ESOP) — you're not just an employee, you're an owner.
  • Health & Wellness Program and Employee Assistance Program (EAP).
  • A consistent 30-hour schedule that respects your time outside of work.
