Requirements

  • Customer service (phones + in‑person)
  • Multitasking and organizational skills
  • Experience handling sensitive patient information
  • Minimum 6 months recent experience in the healthcare industry (front office, back office, scheduling, or patient support)
  • Required: prior Electronic Medical Record (EMR) experience; eClinicalWorks preferred
  • Professional experience demonstrating: Attention to detail, Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced, high‑volume setting, Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Responsibilities

  • Manage daily front or back office workflows in a professional and efficient manner.
  • Handle patient relations with a welcoming and service‑oriented approach.
  • Perform patient check‑in and check‑out procedures.
  • Answer high‑volume phone lines, schedule appointments, and support patient inquiries.
  • File, retrieve, and maintain medical records and patient charts.
  • Work with sensitive patient information while adhering to HIPAA and privacy standards.
  • Assist with preparing charts, verifying insurance, and supporting patient access tasks.
  • Collect and record co‑pays via cash or card transactions.
  • Balance and reconcile daily payments within the computer system.
  • Assist in gathering CPT and ICD‑10 codes and other clinical information as required.
  • Schedule patient surgical procedures and maintain an accurate surgery schedule.
  • Complete chart requests from Medical Records.
  • Notify the Materials Manager or Nurse Manager of any surgeon requests, equipment needs, or special considerations for upcoming procedures.
