About The Position

Anne Arundel Dermatology is seeking a part-time Medical Receptionist to support our dermatology office in Tampa, FL (Academic Alliance in Dermatology). Schedule: Tuesday, Thursday, and FridayHours: 8:00 AM - 5:00 PM Candidates with experience in a medical office, healthcare front desk, or dermatology practice are preferred. Strong customer service experience in a high-volume setting will also be considered. In this role, you will play a key part in both the daily operations of the practice and the overall patient experience. You’ll be responsible for managing front desk activities, coordinating patient flow, and ensuring each patient has a smooth and positive visit.

Requirements

  • High School Graduate or GED (required).
  • 2+ years of customer service experience
  • 1-3 years recent experience as a Medical Receptionist in a clinical or surgical setting (preferred).
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA standards.
  • Must be able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced and at times stressful environment.
  • Detail-oriented
  • Working knowledge of multi-line phone system.
  • Able to operate standard office equipment (i.e. computer, fax, copier, scanner, etc)
  • Intermediate computer skills and experience in EMR utilization
  • Fluent in English.
  • Ability to sort and file materials correctly alphabetically or numerically.
  • Ability to travel to and provide coverage for other local offices as-needed.
  • Sitting, some standing, stooping and reaching.
  • Manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard.
  • Correctable vision to 20/20 and hearing within a normal range for telephone contacts.
  • Lifting and carrying up to 30 pounds.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience in Dermatology (preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner and provide excellent customer service
  • Manage patient check-in and check-out processes
  • Schedule appointments and referrals accurately
  • Answer and screen incoming calls; take clear and concise messages
  • Enter and update patient demographics and insurance information
  • Review patient charts to ensure all required information, forms, and signatures are complete
  • Collect copays, balances, and other patient payments
  • Track and manage patient flow in the reception area
  • Respond to patient questions regarding scheduling, billing, and general inquiries
  • Distribute incoming reports, correspondence, and documentation to appropriate charts
  • Ensure phone messages, faxes, and internal communications are handled promptly
  • Assist with inventory tracking and supply orders as needed
  • Run end-of-day reports and balance payment totals when closing
  • Support team members and assist with additional administrative tasks as needed
