About The Position

Cypress Ridge Care Center is seeking a detail‑oriented and organized Medical Records Assistant to join our team. This full‑time role supports our clinical and administrative departments by ensuring accurate, compliant, and confidential maintenance of resident medical records. The Medical Records Assistant is responsible for managing, safeguarding, and updating resident health information in accordance with state, federal, and facility policies. The ideal candidate is reliable, professional, and committed to accuracy and confidentiality.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in medical records or healthcare office administration preferred.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations required.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in EMR systems and basic computer applications.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and update electronic and paper medical records.
  • Ensure documentation is complete, current, and compliant with regulatory requirements.
  • Process admissions, discharges, and transfers in the medical records system.
  • Assist with audits, chart reviews, and survey preparation.
  • Coordinate requests for health information while protecting resident confidentiality (HIPAA).
  • Support clinical staff with documentation needs and filing.
  • Perform general administrative duties as assigned.
