Requirements
- Age 20+
- Bachelor’s degree in HIM, Business Administration, Nursing, or related field
- Valid Driver’s License & Auto Insurance
- 3+ years in: Medical records / Health Information Management and/or Clinical role in mental health / psychiatric / residential settings
- Strong knowledge of: Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems, HIPAA and regulatory compliance
Nice To Haves
- Master’s preferred
- LBSW (with Bachelor’s)
- Licensure (with Master’s) through Kansas Behavioral Services Regulatory Board or Kansas State Board of Nursing
- Experience with: Clinical documentation standards, Supervisory or management roles, Data analysis & reporting, Microsoft Office Suite
Responsibilities
- Lead and develop a high-performing medical records team
- Ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance of all clinical documentation
- Design and oversee audit systems, reporting tools, and quality initiatives
- Identify trends, gaps, and root causes—and turn insights into action
- Serve as a data privacy and HIPAA compliance leader
- Collaborate with clinical, IT, and leadership teams to improve EHR workflows
- Drive clinical documentation improvement (CDI) efforts
- Oversee Release of Information (ROI) processes
- Educate staff and promote best practices in documentation excellence
