About The Position

We are currently seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Medical Scribe to join our clinical team. This position is responsible for accurately and thoroughly documenting patient visits in real-time, enabling physicians to focus on direct patient care. The ideal candidate will exemplify professionalism, adhere strictly to practice protocols, and manage workflow with a strong emphasis on quality, accuracy, and efficiency. Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in a healthcare-related field preferred
  • Completion of a Medical Assistant training program considered an asset
  • Proficiency in medical terminology and documentation practices
  • Strong computer literacy, including working knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Word
  • Experience with EHR systems; Athena experience is a strong plus
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills
  • High attention to detail with the ability to work independently and under pressure
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with discretion and professionalism

Responsibilities

  • Transcribe and document patient encounters in real-time alongside physicians
  • Efficiently manage an average of two patient charts per hour, and up to four during high-volume periods
  • Sort and manage medical documents within the Electronic Health Record (EHR) system
  • Assist with electronic prescribing and ensure prescription data accuracy
  • Draft referral letters and facilitate communications with other providers as needed
  • Support patient intake processes and contribute to a positive care experience
  • Coordinate diagnostic tests and specialist referrals in collaboration with clinical staff
  • Assist physicians with basic, non-invasive patient care procedures
  • Maintain a clean, professional, and organized working environment
  • Participate in training and mentorship of newly hired Medical Scribes
