About The Position

Medical Staff Coordinator duties by assisting medical staff organization in the activities of the organization with knowledge of regulatory and/or accrediting agencies, interpreting standards and implementing change. Responsible for medical staff credentialing process. Acts as a liaison between health system administration, medical staff, hospital staff and the Governing Body.

Requirements

  • Minimum Highschool diploma required
  • Minimum Work Experience 1 year experience in a Medical office setting preferred
  • Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.
  • Works independently with proven organizational skills and attention to detail
  • Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks and exercise sound judgment
  • Demonstrates proficiency in verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to interact effectively and professionally with individuals at all levels; both internal and external
  • Must be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Responsibilities

  • Completes Provider credentialing and Provider onboarding scheduling.
  • Schedules/coordinates meetings, conferences, special events, appointments and travel arrangements.
  • Assists with Locum recruitment and is responsible for Locum scheduling.
  • Completes affiliation verifications.
  • Other Miscellaneous Medical Staff Functions (i.e. interpreting/implementing Medical Staff Bylaws and assisting Providers as needed).
  • Composes, types, and transcribes correspondence, forms, reports, presentation materials and other written communications.
  • Receives, screens, and routes visitors and telephone calls.
  • Responds to, escalates, and follows up on inquiries and problems as appropriate.
  • Other duties as assigned
