About the position

This position is for a Physician Assistant within the Federal service, specifically in Albuquerque, NM and Mescalero, NM. The role requires candidates to have sufficient experience and/or education to perform the duties associated with the position. Experience can include both paid and unpaid work, including volunteer work through National Service programs. Candidates must clearly identify their duties and responsibilities in their resume, including the total number of hours worked per week. The position requires graduation from an accredited physician assistant educational program and successful completion of the NCCPA examination. Additionally, candidates must maintain their certification and possess a current, unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant.

Responsibilities

  • Provide comprehensive preventive and therapeutic healthcare services to all age groups.
  • Assess, diagnose, and treat various illnesses.
  • Formulate and implement treatment plans.
  • Prescribe medications.
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests.
  • Educate and counsel patients.
  • Collaborate with physicians concerning patient care and management.

Requirements

  • Graduation from an accredited physician assistant educational program.
  • Successful completion of the NCCPA examination.
  • Current, active, full, and unrestricted license as a Physician Assistant.
  • At least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level.
