About The Position

The Medical Support Assistant is a medical administrative assistant who provides procedure scheduling and administrative support while traveling between our Riverview and Tampa, Florida locations with an assigned Physician. This is a non-technical, administrative role. ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES: Coordinates Physician’s office schedule to maximize efficiency and keep Provider on task. Communicates effectively and flexibly responds to changing demands to ensure smooth workflow and continuity of appointments. Triages telephone messages and returns calls to provide prompt answers to callers. Collaborates effectively with patients and staff at all levels. Rooms, interviews, and safely transports patients via wheelchair. Coordinates and schedules injections, procedures, and follow up appointments as designated by physician. Maintains files and patient records in a confidential manner consistent with HIPAA rules. Performs other administrative, non-clinical duties as directed or assigned.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma
  • Minimum of 2 (two) years’ experience in a medical office with surgical scheduling experience preferred
  • Highly organized, multitasks with sense of urgency, utilizes good judgment, and strong problem solver
  • Able to reliably travel between Riverview and Tampa, FL offices as clinic schedule dictates
  • Provides superior patient care, exceptional customer service, and practices professional email, telephone etiquette, and interpersonal skills with all levels of staff
  • Ability to safely push and maneuver occupied wheelchairs up to 75 pounds of force.
  • Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Able to spend prolonged periods sitting at a desk while working on a computer, standing, walking, and navigating hallways, elevators, and outdoor walkways.
