About The Position

The Medical Writer will provide medical writing support to select faculty and staff and assist with the development of ideas and clinical topics related to medicine research for grants, publications, and presentations. Tasks include retrieving and summarizing data and information from literature searches and research studies; assisting faculty with the preparation of grants, manuscripts, and all other scientific presentation materials (e.g., presentations, posters, abstracts); as well as the development and implementation of scientific and grant writing training for faculty, residents and staff.

Requirements

  • Four years of writing experience in scientific or healthcare area involving publication, grant, or clinical trial writing.
  • Relevant education may substitute on a year for year basis.

Responsibilities

  • Assist faculty & staff with the preparation of grants, book chapters, manuscripts, and all other scientific presentation materials (e.g., presentations, posters, abstracts).
  • Fact-check, clarify text, and prepare figures, such as tables, charts, legends, slides, and posters.
  • Provide consultation services on research strategies, tactics, and tools.
  • Deliver scientific, medical, technical, and business research/reference services.
  • Review books, journals, technical reports, and electronic media relevant to health care needs.
