About The Position

Under general supervision, the Medication Attendant is responsible for assisting Assisted Living and Memory Care residents as directed by a care plan or agreement. This position has the responsibility of providing residents assistance with activities of daily living including assistance with medications according to physician orders. Sets up, monitors and disperses medicines to residents. As one of the largest nonprofit owner/operator of senior living communities in the country, we are more than just a place to work. Responsibilities

  • Sets up medication for residents and provides medication, under the direction and monitoring of a licensed nurse, and according to physician orders.
  • May order/re-order medications.
  • Records and documents all medication, treatment and care provided to residents.
  • Gives medication to patients and observes ingestion or other application, or administers medication, using specified procedures.
  • Reads communication books in the Wellness office and Lodge for medication changes.
  • Sets up new treatments or medication changes.
  • Takes verbal orders from MDs and communicates with MD confirming medication changes.
  • Assures medications are ordered on time to prevent residents from missing doses.
  • Takes blood pressures and pulses when needed for determining drug dosing.
