About The Position
Santa Barbara Cottage Hospital seeks a Medication History Pharmacy Technician. This role is responsible for obtaining an accurate medication history by interviewing patients and consulting with their outpatient pharmacies. Major Accountabilities include: Obtain medication histories on all assigned patients during scheduled shifts. Perform patient and/or caregiver interviews to obtain allergies and dose, route, frequency, indication, and date/time last dose taken of current medications including prescriptions, over the counter medications, and herbal supplements.
Requirements
- Pharmacy Technician Licensure by the California State Board of Pharmacy.
- Computer skills and knowledge of pharmacy technology.
- 3 years experience.
Nice To Haves
- Degree in Pharmacology.
- National Pharmacy Technician Board Certification Medication History Certificate.
- Familiarity with EPIC.
- At least 1-2 years of related outpatient/retail pharmacy experience (order processing, prescription adjudication, third party problem resolution, and customer service).
