Performs advanced and non-invasive MEG procedures. Operates highly specialized, non-invasive imaging equipment to record magnetic fields produced by electrical brain activity, assisting in clinical diagnosis and research studies. A Brief Overview Responsible for the day-to-day operation of a MEG lab with the Le Bonheur Neuroscience Institute. Performs advanced and non-invasive MEG procedures. Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree Neuroscience
  • 1-3 years Minimum of one year of experience as a MEG Technologist
  • BASIC LIFE SUPPORT - American Heart Association
  • Knowledge of human neuroanatomy.
  • Proficiency in EEG electrode placement and the use of analysis tools.
  • Intermediate skills with Microsoft Office Suite (particularly Word and Excel).
  • Strong interpersonal communication to guide anxious patients and children through long, stationary procedures.
  • Ability to analyze and interpret data to assist decision making.
  • Ability to participate as a team member as well as to work without close supervision and to exercise independent judgment.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and follow up appropriately.
  • Ability to understand and prepare complex written materials, such as patient records.
  • Ability to communicate verbally with all levels of Associates and management, physicians and patients and their families.
  • Ability to organize multiple tasks and projects.

Responsibilities

  • Performs advanced and non-invasive MEG procedures.
  • Independently conducts clinical MEG data collection.
  • Ensures patient safety, comfort, and proper EEG electrode application and removal as needed during MEG testing.
  • Performs patient interviews to obtain medical history and documents information to assist faculty in interpreting results.
  • Explains procedures to patients and answers questions within their scope regarding the procedure.
  • Performs charge entry/verification and maintains consistent electronic communication with appropriate staff through designated channels.
  • Optimizes MEG data acquisition and pre‑processing procedures, maintains and reports daily system performance, and manages MEG data archiving and retrieval.
  • Maintains accurate electronic medical records and clinical databases in designated secure platforms.
  • Supports faculty-led research protocols by obtaining informed consent, assisting with medical record review, and contributing to MEG research data collection activities.
  • Performs other duties as assigned or requested.
