About The Position

Join the team at Eck Industries, a leading aluminum foundry in Manitowoc, WI. We’re looking for individuals who are hands-on, detail-oriented for our Melter position to help shape precision aluminum castings used in aerospace, defense, and cutting-edge industries.

Requirements

Prior manufacturing experience preferred (but we’ll train the right person!).
High school diploma or GED preferred.
Good attention to detail, teamwork, and a strong work ethic.
Comfortable working with your hands in an active and high heat environment.

Responsibilities

Melt and prepare a variety of metal alloys according to production schedules and specifications
Review melt schedules to determine alloy types, quantities, and timing requirements
Maintain furnace cleanliness by removing residue and ensuring optimal operating conditions
Charge furnaces with ingot and internal materials following established procedures
Perform degassing and skim impurities to maintain required metal quality standards
Monitor gauges, record temperatures, and ensure process parameters are maintained
Coordinate with the lab by delivering samples for quality testing and verification
Support pouring operations by coordinating metal delivery and operating pouring controls as needed
Conduct daily equipment inspections and follow work instructions to ensure safe, efficient operations
