About The Position

The Member Advisor plays a crucial role in assisting credit union members by providing personalized recommendations and exceptional service. This position involves cross-selling products, addressing member inquiries, and ensuring compliance with policies and procedures.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years’ experience in lending or branch operations.
  • High school diploma.
  • Excellent positive member/customer service and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong math skills and effective communication with members.
  • Familiarity with loan documents, lending regulations, and credit union policies.
  • Proficiency in Symitar for posting transactions and inquiries.
  • Proficiency in L360 for loan application processing.
  • Ability to lift 25 lbs. and function in a financial institution environment

Responsibilities

  • Needs Assessment and Recommendations:
  • Conduct thorough assessments to understand member needs.
  • Provide personalized product recommendations.
  • Cross-Selling and Loan Processing:
  • Cross-sell credit union products based on needs.
  • Accurately process loan applications.
  • Member Communication and Query Resolution:
  • Address inquiries via face-to-face or telephone.
  • Investigate and resolve member queries.
  • Compliance and Record Keeping:
  • Adhere to policies and complete required paperwork.
  • Document member activity in the system.
  • Continuous Learning and External Engagement:
  • Stay informed about products and policies.
  • Support external business development events.
  • Under general supervision, originate consumer loans within underwriting guidelines.
  • Incorporate The Apple Way principles into daily activities, providing friendly, courteous, and professional service.
  • Qualify potential members and complete steps for opening deposit accounts and automated services.
  • Gather information for consumer loan applications and member requests.
  • Use established sales techniques to achieve individual and related sales goals.
  • Adhere to credit union policies, procedures, and Bank Secrecy Act regulations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Branch Manager.
