About The Position

Jacob’s Pillow Dance Festival in Becket, Massachusetts seeks a Membership and Individual Support Coordinator to support the Philanthropy department’s ambitious membership and individual giving efforts. The Coordinator will play a key role in membership acquisition, retention, and engagement by handling customer service, processing memberships from end to end (customer-facing to gift entry and acknowledgement), assisting with Member events and programs, and executing communications (renewals, mailings, and stewardship). The Coordinator will also work with colleagues to execute appeals and individual giving campaigns which drive participation, entry-level giving, and recurring gifts. The successful candidate will be detail-oriented, skilled in high-touch customer service, and have some experience in gift entry, acknowledgements, and events. The Coordinator must have a strong interest in or appreciation for dance, be a team player and self-motivated, committed to working at the highest level of quality, able to work both independently, as well as work across multiple, concurrent projects, and thrive within tight deadlines. There are approximately 2,300 engaged Members at Jacob’s Pillow from the US and around the world who are dedicated to the mission, values and vision of Jacob’s Pillow. Following the success of the Dance Unleashed campaign for the new Doris Duke Theatre and a refresh of individual giving and membership strategies, this role was created to help focus on taking relationships and support to new heights.

Requirements

  • One to two years of experience in non-profit fundraising or marketing, or in customer service positions
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Ability to work with agility in a fast-paced environment, managing multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Highly effective oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
  • Creative thinking.
  • Ability to manage confidential information with impeccable discretion.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Ability to work with a diverse group of internal/external stakeholders.
  • Proficiency with Google applications such as Gmail, Gdocs, and Gsheets, or Microsoft Office.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in an arts-related organization.
  • Strong data skills, with knowledge of formulae, pivot tables, as well as an understanding of deduping lists, and analysis.
  • Proficiency with donor databases, such as Tessitura, Salesforce, or Raiser’s Edge.
  • Proficiency in Canva.

Responsibilities

  • With the guidance of the Individual Support Director and Membership and Individual Support Manager, execute multiple membership appeals and renewal drives annually (in concert with the Marketing Department)
  • Be responsible for the membership hotline and email address, ensuring prompt response to Member inquiries and questions
  • Support the Individual Support Director in managing the School Sponsorship program and School Sponsors as well as the new Advocate ($7,500+) level donor program, including the stewardship and administration of Sponsors via email communications, announcements, and events
  • Assist with and staff Member events and programs, including occasional work during weekends between September and May
  • Assist with benefit fulfillment including product selection and ordering
  • Develop, write, and coordinate newsletters and other donor communications that support membership and individual support income goals for Jacob’s Pillow
  • Research and track best practices and recommend new approaches and tactics for membership and individual giving based on analysis
  • Prepare landing pages and mini campaigns on occasion when requested for gifts in honor of or in memory of individuals
  • Perform hands-on gift entry as necessary in their work with the Philanthropy Associate and the Senior Philanthropy Operations Manager
  • Assist with Member ticketing needs on occasion
  • Assist with all Member activities on campus, including the Member/Welcome Table, stewardship seat notes, and events such as the Pillow Lab showings.
