About The Position

People Incorporated Mental Health Services is seeking a Mental Health Practitioner I to join our Long-Term Residential program. Foliage offers long-term housing and intensive supportive services in a community and PIDAP programs help individuals living in a community setting to become more independent while still getting the support that they need. Helping people with mental illness requires great flexibility and creativity. These are full-time positions that is responsible for providing a supportive environment for our clients. Requirements

  • Travel required- Current driver's license along with access to a vehicle is required
  • High school diploma and: 4,000 hours of experience in the delivery of services to people with mental Illness, Traumatic brain injury or developmental disabilities OR: 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with Mental Illness, DD, ID or TBI, and receives clinical supervision from a mental health professional once a week until 4,000 hours of experience is met OR Has completed 30 semester hours or 45 quarter hours in behavioral science or a related field and Has proof of a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served and is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields. Has 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with Mental Illness, DD, ID or TBI OR Bachelor's degree in behavioral science or related field Has proof of practicum or internship that require direct interactions with adults or children served and is focused behavioral science or related field

Responsibilities

  • Document interactions with clients into organization’s Electronic Health Record (EHR) and if applicable, program-specific documentation/record-keeping system, while providing clear and concise communication with client, staff and other applicable parties.
  • Effectively interact and exhibit behavior that is consistent with customer service and professional standards established by the organizational, division and program.
  • Responsible for medication administration in accordance with organization and program policies and procedures.
  • Using person-centered principles, actively engage with clients in their daily activities, and develop and maintain appropriate relationships that support the client in meeting their individual goals.
  • Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation for clients experiencing mental health symptoms or other emotional responses while prioritizing client and program safety.
  • Independent Living Skills, teaching and/or coaching, as it relates to the individual’s goal and/or treatment plans.
